Privacy policy
What this website collects, why, who sees it, and how to have it corrected or deleted.
Effective 3 September 2026 · Version 1.0
This policy explains how personal information is handled on michaelkutcher.com. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, ask and it will be explained in plain terms.
1. Who is responsible
This website is operated by Michael Kutcher, a keynote speaker based in Colorado, United States. Speaking engagements and media inquiries are handled by TA Speakers Management, who act as his representation and who receive booking inquiries submitted through this site.
For any question about this policy, or to exercise any right described in it, contact stephanie@taspeakersmanagement.com. Requests are answered by a person.
2. Information collected
Only what you choose to provide, plus limited technical information described below. There is no hidden collection.
Information you give
- Booking and speaking inquiries. Name, organization, email address, telephone number if you supply one, event date and location, audience details, and anything else you write in the message field.
- Newsletter subscription. Email address, and your first name if you provide it.
- Media kit access. The passphrase you enter is verified inside your own browser. It is never transmitted to a server and never recorded.
- Correspondence. If you email, that email and its contents are retained as business correspondence.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics, only with your consent. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 records pages viewed, approximate location derived from a truncated IP address, device and browser type, referring site, and whether inquiry and outbound links were used. Analytics storage defaults to denied and nothing is set until you accept.
- Server logs. The hosting provider keeps standard request logs for security and reliability.
3. Why it is collected
- To answer your inquiry and to arrange and deliver a speaking engagement.
- To send the newsletter you asked for, and only that.
- To understand which pages are useful so the site can be improved.
- To keep the site secure and to meet legal and accounting obligations.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the lawful bases are performance of a contract or steps taken at your request (inquiries), consent (newsletter and analytics), and legitimate interests (security, and responding to correspondence).
4. What is never done
- Your personal information is not sold. It is not sold, rented, leased or traded, and it is not shared for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, or under any comparable state law.
- No advertising cookies, ad networks, remarketing pixels or data brokers are used on this site.
- No profiling and no automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
- No sensitive personal information is deliberately collected. Please do not send health information, government identifiers or payment card details through the forms on this site.
5. Who information is shared with
Personal information is shared only with the parties needed to run this site and answer you, and only for that purpose:
- TA Speakers Management, who receive and act on booking inquiries as Michael's representation.
- The email service provider that stores newsletter subscriptions and sends the newsletter.
- Google, as the analytics provider, where you have consented to analytics.
- The hosting provider that serves this website.
- Professional advisers or authorities, where disclosure is required by law, court order or lawful request, or is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
Before launch: name the email service provider, the hosting provider and the exact booking inquiry recipients. These are commitments to the reader and must be accurate rather than assumed.
6. International transfers
This site is operated from the United States and TA Speakers Management is in Canada, so information you submit will be processed in the United States and Canada. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, that is a transfer outside your jurisdiction. Where such a transfer occurs it is made on the basis of appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where a provider offers them.
7. How long information is kept
- Inquiries that do not become engagements: kept for up to twenty four months, then deleted.
- Engagement records: kept for as long as needed to deliver the engagement and afterwards for the period required for tax and accounting.
- Newsletter subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe, after which your address is held on a suppression list so you are not re-added.
- Analytics: retained on the standard schedule configured for the Google Analytics property.
8. Your rights
Everyone
Whoever and wherever you are, you may ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, ask for a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent to analytics or the newsletter at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
United States
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the rights to know, access, correct, delete and obtain a portable copy of your personal information; to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising and profiling; and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of them. Because personal information is never sold or shared for advertising here, there is no opt-out to operate, but the right stands. Where your state provides an appeal, you may appeal a refusal by replying to the response you receive, and you may contact your state Attorney General if you remain dissatisfied.
Canada
If you are in Canada, your rights arise under PIPEDA and you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
United Kingdom and European Economic Area
If you are in the UK or the EEA, you have the rights set out in the UK GDPR and the GDPR, including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Making a request
Send any request to stephanie@taspeakersmanagement.com. Requests are acknowledged within ten business days and answered within forty five days, extendable once where the law allows and where you are told why. Identity may need to be verified before information is released, which protects you. An authorised agent may act for you with written authorisation.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
A record of your cookie choice is stored in your browser so you are not asked on every visit. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept and Google Consent Mode is configured with advertising storage denied at all times. You can change or clear either choice in your browser settings. This site does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals, because there is no consistent standard for them, but it does honor Global Privacy Control signals where your browser sends one.
10. Email
Newsletter emails comply with the CAN-SPAM Act and with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation. Every message identifies the sender, states why you are receiving it, and carries a working one-click unsubscribe that is actioned promptly.
11. Children
This site is directed at event professionals and is not intended for children. Personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under sixteen, and not from anyone under thirteen as defined by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. If you believe a child has provided information, contact stephanie@taspeakersmanagement.com and it will be deleted.
12. Security
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and no absolute guarantee is given. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, you will be notified as required by applicable law.
13. Third-party links
This site links to booksellers, publications, podcasts and partner organizations. Those destinations have their own privacy practices and this policy does not cover them.
14. Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date and version at the top of the page change with it. Material changes will be signalled clearly on the site.
15. Contact
Privacy questions, rights requests and complaints go to stephanie@taspeakersmanagement.com.
Before launch: add a postal address for legal notices. Several state privacy laws expect one, and a mailing address should be a deliberate choice (Michael's, or the agency's) rather than one this document picks for him.
